My first travel vlog in a magical place: Magic Tingwick

I recently had the good fortune and honour of being invited to visit an unusual place to stay in Tingwick, Quebec. (in french)

After crossing the St. Lawrence River and driving about 1? hours screaming songs at the top of my lungs in my car, I arrived. As soon as I entered the site, I felt a strange sense of belonging - a bit like arriving at home. Geneviève, the charming owner, adds to this feeling by greeting me with a warm smile and a playful "Bonjour! She doesn't even have to introduce herself. I know it's her - I can tell by her charismatic, mysterious appearance and her pretty, slim face haloed by superb black hair - black like all the buildings and animals I'll discover on the site throughout my stay.

The tour begins with the accommodation. Three unusual buildings are available to visitors: a small chapel, a treehouse (read "a luxury chalet!") and a small gypsy caravan beside a stream. I chose the chapel because it's the only building with electricity - filming obliges! The interior is breathtaking (see video). The chapel is located very close to a private bathroom with shower and the reception area. I spent the night there in torrential rain - a real blessing as the metal roof reflected the sound of the rain like a rhythmic lullaby.
Then I head for the treehouse. A real chalet, this place has no electricity. But don't worry, a magnificent wood-burning stove promises to keep you warm when you need it. And who needs electricity when the stars are shining brightly in the sky?

The last discovery is the gypsy caravan on the edge of the stream. A real caravan, all painted black, it's the smallest of the buildings - and the most intimate. It was my first choice, but in the absence of electricity, I opted for the chapel.
Speaking of the creek, it's full of raw quartz that we can harvest as we please, while respecting the environment. It's even rumoured that one of our customers found a small gold nugget, the remains of an old mine. Where there's quartz, there's usually gold. Prospectors beware!
A communal area with a fully equipped kitchen, spa and fireplace is also available to visitors.
Beyond the black buildings, which are largely inspired by an old burnt-out house at the entrance to the site (impossible to visit - too dangerous), there are a multitude of activities on offer.
On this trip, I had the chance to walk the (black) alpaguas, visit the (black) rabbits and chickens, visit the caves and natural pools nearby and take part in a workshop to create beeswax candles using an ancestral method..

I'll definitely be going back in the autumn to complete my stay, as I didn't get a chance to see the fireflies (because of the rain), pick mushrooms (because of the drought before the rain), go on a moth safari (the cocoons weren't anywhere near) and get my cards drawn! (I think we just forgot about that - too much fun by the fire in the caves!)

Oh, and I forgot, I'll be sure to pay a visit to the new arrival - a zebra! Did you know that zebras are actually black with white stripes?
Magic Tingwick is definitely a magical place where you can feel at home. My ultimate pleasure would be to organise a meeting of my coven...
Who knows? Maybe this autumn?
